Registration of parliamentary candidates starts Saturday

The Iranian Interior Ministry’s election headquarters has announced that the registration of candidates for the parliamentary elections, which will be held on March 12, will begin on December 24 and will continue until December 30.  

According to the law, the candidates should adhere to the Constitution, the principles of the Islamic system and velayat-e faqih (rule of the supreme jurisprudent), and should have a master’s degree or a qualification which is equivalent to a master’s degree. All candidates should be vetted by the Guardian Council.
